September is Self-Care Awareness Month

Dedicate the entire month to yourself!

I'm grateful to a beautiful friend of mine, Kimberley who helped kicked off Self-Care Awareness Month. She treated me and a few other friends to a day at Asia Rose Spa. This day was so amazing and thoughtful.


.This is the perfect time to practice self-care ideas and begin taking care of yourself. It's important to remember we cannot fill up someone else's cup without first filling up our own. True self-care is not self-centered nor selfish; it is simply keeping yourself the focus of your own life. It’s about paying attention to how you feel in each moment, communicating clearly, speaking up for yourself, and saying yes or no… guilt-free. Use the month of September to make self-care a part of your daily routine – practice being good to yourself.


Here are all the tips you need to practice self-care in a nourishing way.

  • Let go of something holding you back today (mobile phone, social media, watching the news)

  • Reflect on what you are grateful for in this season of life

  • Take time to be still and present for a few minutes or longer. Just breathe.

  • Make yourself a self-care music playlist

  • Add some flowers to your life today

  • Go sit in nature and be still and listen

  • Set an intention for your day

  • Leave a positive message on a mirror or in a public place

  • Sleep in or make the time of an extra slow morning

  • Make a bucket list of things you want to do by the end of the year

  • Write down what you like and appreciate about yourself

  • Make a date night with your significant partner or loved one

  • Take a social media break

We are all unique and the important part of our self-care practices is that we make them relevant and useful to our health and well-being. Self-care can bring calmness and joy to your life and help you on your journey as you move forward.
