When God Shows Up

“I could never fold when you consistently show up and show out”

Wow, this past week was just so so, amazing. It’s crazy how this time last year I was in a weird space, a weird place trying to understand exactly what was happening to me and in my life. To be honest I struggled for a while trying to understand the why. Had I wronged someone, was God trying to teach me a lesson, was God needing to get my attention, was God needing to use me for his people. Honestly, as much as I tried to figure it out and make sense of it I couldn’t. Eventually, I stopped wrecking my brain about it. It was the people who came to me, my family, my friends sharing my story, my testimony and saying how they were brought back to God, how they began praying again that I concluded within myself that maybe God needed to use me, for me and for them. Sometimes what we go through maybe for us, but it could also be for someone else. Quite frankly I learned that truly we have to be specific with our prayers. Maybe God decided to take me up on my offer of him “using me as a vessel” maybe it was just the right time. Only God knew the things his people would endure in 2020. He needed us close, to strengthen our faith, to show us a miracle so that when the really hard times came, we wouldn’t fold on him.

Personally, I could never. Nah, God never that. I could never fold when you consistently show up and show out. So fast forward a year to the tee. On the same day a year later in which doctors said I wouldn’t make it through the night God decided to come through on one more miracle, the closing of our new home, and just one day later the launch of my new blog “Journey Well". Yes, all of this exactly the same week a year later when I experienced the most traumatic episode of my life. I’m sure I don’t have to remind you, but in case I do… God always comes through on his promises. One of my favorite bible verses, Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Despite what I had gone through, despite the reasoning behind which I tried to understand and make sense of what I had gone through, I knew that God was working behind the scenes to bring about the good. I may have had to take a step back last year, but as you can see, I never lacked, my family never lacked and what I gained was worth God’s complete restoration in my life.

If you haven't already, I encourage you to watch the Facebook Live, featuring myself and my beautiful friend Edwina of How in the Health Did That Happen Holistic Health and Wellness Blog. It was the most liberating chat I've had in a long time. So many people connected with us and gems were dropped on both ends. Things will happen in our lives both good and bad. But When God Shows Up you already know he has a way to bring you out, a way to thrust you forward, a miracle in the works. God stands on all of his promises, all in time my beautiful friend.

No matter what happens in life, It’s all a part of the Journey. Don’t ever fold.

Love and Life Friend,

Yasmin
